Lavina “Lee” Hall Prescott passed from this life October 11, 2013. She is the daughter of the late Leland and Lavina May Hall. Predeceased by her husband of fifty years, David L. C. Prescott, Sr. and her grandson George Paul Brewster, she is survived by her son David L. C. Prescott, Jr. of Virginia Beach, her daughter and son-in-law Lavina and Al Brewster and grandson Reid Luke Prescott Brewster of St. Leonard, Maryland. During WWII she served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy installing radios in military vehicles and then opening the first military beauty salons. She came to Virginia in 1948 working as a hairdresser until her unexpected retirement in 2009. She was a member of the Lynnhaven Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Kempsville Women’s Club. Lee served as a Sunday School teacher, Bell Choir and Chancel Choir member for many years. Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Ministry of Thalia UMC, 4400 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. The visitation will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Friday, October 25, 2013, 6-8 p.m. and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Thalia United Methodist Church.
