Lena M. Perkins, 88 died November 10, 2008 in the Salemtowne Retirement Community in Winston-Salem. She was formerly of the 8000 block of Lynnbrook Drive in Norfolk and lived in Norfolk from 1946 until she moved to an Assisted Living facility in NC to be close to her daughter.
She was born in Lynn, Massachusetts and was pre-deceased by her husband, Edward, who retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad. They were former members of the Tarrallton Seniors Club and bowled with the Railroad Bowling League.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda P. Keel and her husband, Clarence, of Clemmons, NC; a son Edward P. Perkins of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Christopher and Brian Keel, and Cheri Seery; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Andrew Donovan of Saugus, MA.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Funeral Chapel, 6329 Va. Beach Blvd with the Rev. Ken Carlton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
