Leona Moyer

Virginia Beach, Va. Mrs. Leona Virginia Moyer, age 85, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 with family at her bedside. She was the widow of Robert L. Moyer Sr. and she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Smith and her husband, Harry of Altavista, VA., a son, Robert "Bob" L. Moyer, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA., three grandchildren, Christina Gregory, Kimberly Pittman and Robert L. Moyer, III., and 2 great grandchildren, Courtney Ridgeway and Abigail Leona Kershner. The family would also like to extend special thanks to her brother-in-law Charles Moyer, neighbors Todd and Angie Petro, Mary Jones, Helen Rousseau, and the wonderful ladies from hospice Trish, Violet, Danielle, and Carrie. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk,Va., and at other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday with the Rev. Ernest Trueblood officiating in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
