

Lolita (Loleng) Aquino, age 90, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. She was born in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines to Rizal and Raymunda Canlas. She was the second among ten siblings.
She graduated from Philippine Normal College. She was a home economics teacher and librarian in the Philippines, prior to becoming a U.S. Navy wife and mother. After settling in the United States and her children in grade school, she became a medical coder working for Sentara and then for the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.
She was a devoted wife, mother, Lola, and a longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was a pioneer member of the Pampanga Language Club. Lolita enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, particularly for her grandchildren. She also loved to shop, always looking for the best sales, discounts, and bargains (especially for shoes.)
Lolita was predeceased by her husband Eugenio Aquino, son Elmer, and granddaughter, Erica. She is survived by her daughter, Eileen; her son Eugene; and her grandsons: Eann Emil and Evan. She also leaves behind numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She will be missed for her kindness, generosity, and her reminders to “GO, EAT MORE.”
A funeral mass for Lolita will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 3314 Sandra Lane, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502. The family will welcome guests for a reception at St. Matthew Catholic Church following the burial.
