Luna was born in 1934 in Black Jack, North Carolina to the late Richard and Sally Glisson, Sr. Luna knew hard work all of her life. In her early years growing up in Black Jack, NC, being the oldest girl, she had to do many things. Her mom had polio so Luna would have to do what her mom would have done. They included cooking for the family, making sure everyone had their baths, use the scrub board to wash the clothes, etc. She also had to take care of the many needs that involved her mother’s care. In her spare time she also worked the tobacco fields and the smoke house. In 1952, soon after she married Herman L. Hannah, they moved to Virginia. Soon after moving to Virginia in 1953 Luna Mae was born. In 1954 Barbara Ann was born then in 1957 Herman L. Hannah, Jr. was born. She began her work outside the home by going to work at Krispy Kreme. This became a “family” business as all of her kids (Luna, Barbara and Buddy) also worked there. While at home she also worked around the house. She would tend to the flower beds, paint as needed and and repair things as needed. She was awesome and will be greatly missed.
Luna had three main areas that she devoted her love to. First, was God. She was a devoted Christian spreading God’s love until the end. Second, was “family”. Her family was husband, Herman L. Hannah, Sr.; daughters, Luna Mae and Barbara Ann; son, Herman L. Hannah, Jr.; grandchildren, David Wagner, Jr., Linda Wagner, Nathan Wagner, Michael Collins, Chris Hannah and James Holcombe. And the third was the church she loved, Cornerstone Church of God.
