

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dearest aunt and “second mother and grandmother,” Margaret Elizabeth (Polly) Vogler Davis of Virginia Beach, VA. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Jan 9, 2015. She was born to the late William R. and Nina Crump Vogler on November 29, 1924 and was a native of Norfolk, VA. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers. Margaret was a devoted and loving wife to Joshua R. Davis for 46 years before his passing in 1993. The National Bank of Commerce in Norfolk employed her for thirty years. Margaret was a member of Fairmount Park United Methodist Church since a child and faithfully served the Lord there in many capacities until unable to do so in recent years.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted nephews and nieces, Fred Vogler Jr and wife Robin from California; Jack Vogler and wife Rhonda from Danville, VA; Larry Ganey from Portsmouth VA; Betty Allen and husband Bobby from Virginia Beach, VA; Linda Garner and husband Jerry from Pearland, Texas; and Frances Turrentine from Big Spring, Texas. She is also survived by great and great, great nephews and nieces who considered her their Grandmother. They were Joshua C. Allen, wife Amy and son Samuel Hart Allen of Raleigh, NC; Aaron J. Allen, wife Suzanne and daughters Amelia Grace and Kathleen Elizabeth of Georgetown, IN; R. Bailey Allen, wife Mary and daughter Kailey Ruth and son Gavin Bailey Allen of Indiana, PA; JD Garner, wife Amanda and children Tres and Hannah of Pearland TX; Jason Garner, wife Shauna and children Elijah, Trinity, and Ella of Pearland TX; and Jon Garner of Houston, TX; and a host of other family and friends. She was an instant friend to every one she met and a true gentle, southern lady who will be forever loved and missed!
A celebration of her life service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502, Saturday, Jan 17, 2015 at 11 AM. Visitation will be at 10 AM before the funeral. Pastors Jerry Garner, of First Born Fellowship from Pearland TX, Bobby E. Allen and Fred Devan Jr. of Grace Community Church, Salem Rd, Va Beach, VA and will be officiating. Depending on the weather, a private Burial and graveside service will follow at Woodland Memorial Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at Westminster Canterbury Monday, Jan. 19 at 1 PM.
