Marion Bennett Williams, 86, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Samuel D. and Nellie A. Bennett. Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marion is predeceased by her husband John Arnold Williams; two brothers Samuel David Bennett, Jr. and Kenneth E. Bennett; and sister Catherine B. Speet. She is survived by her daughters Betty Jo Staneski of Portsmouth and Mary L. Courtney of Virginia Beach; son Wayne Williams (Jenny) of Cary, NC; grandchildren Brian L. Edmondson, Jennifer L. Courtney, and Michelle Todd; one great grandson Alex Edmondson; sister Peggy B. Craig; sisters-in-law Genevieve Bennett, Alma Stevens, and Annie Bel Childress; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 29, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 30, at 12 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Marion was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and her church, Thalia Lynn Baptist. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/seva in Marion's name.
