Born November 5, 1924 in Puerto Rico to the late Angelo and Buena Ventura (Labiosa) Del Toro. She had a great compassion for wildlife, especially the birds that would greet her at her window each morning. When able she attended St. Pius Catholic Church.
Survived by a sister, Alice Gonzalez; three nephews, Peter Angelo Del Toro, Wayne Simpson, and Ralph Gonzalez; niece, Audrey Jones; sister-in-law, Mae Del Toro; numerous cousins; loving family and friends in Puerto Rico and Florida; and her faithful companion, Heidi.
Monsita is predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Henry and Louis Del Toro; and nephew, Henry "The Bull" Del Toro.
A service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007 in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach, Virginia 23502. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Norfolk S.P.C.A. or a local animal shelter of your choice.
