Pearl Melson Robbins, 98, of Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia. Passed away peacefully, March 8, 2009. She was born September 13, 1910 on Monkey Island in Currituck Sound, North Carolina to Joseph Melson and Nancy O'Neal Melson. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Samuel "Sam" Robbins, and two sisters Annie Curles, of Maryland and Eva Halsey of Norfolk. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law- Leona and Cecil Fitchett of Richmond, and a son and daughter-in-law James Samuel Jr. "Jimmy" and Lynn Robbins of Norfolk, four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 5 great-great- grandchildren. She was a member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 12 from 12-2p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk., with graveside services at 2pm.
