

Randolph “Turk” Cooper, 75, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Suffolk, Virginia, Randolph was the son of the late Johnny Thomas Cooper and Agnes Burrus Cooper. A longtime resident of Norfolk, he attended Booker T. Washington High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
In his younger years, Randolph pursued his interest in modeling, graduating from both Chess Modeling School and La Charm Modeling School. He later built a successful career as a welder, working for Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corporation (NORSHIPCO), BAE Systems, and Range Systems Engineering in the Marshall Islands.
Affectionately known as “Turk” by friends, Randolph was known for his warm spirit and love of life. He enjoyed hosting cookouts, attending jazz concerts, watching football, traveling, and visiting museums.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Thomas and Agnes Burrus Cooper; brothers, Johnnie and Troy Cooper; and sister, Deloris Cooper. Randolph is survived by his beloved son, Scott Cooper of Lynchburg; wife, Linda Clark Cooper; stepsons, Jamol “Ray-Ray” and Rasheem “Christopher” McMillan; stepdaughter, Yolanda “Yo-Yo” Clark; sisters, Erma Bracey of Norfolk, Jeanette Cooper and Michelle Cooper of Virginia Beach; and a host of extended family and dear friends. Randolph loved his mother and family deeply and was a loyal, lifelong friend to many. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. We humbly bow to the will of God. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. We will love and cherish his life and memories always.
A visitation for Randolph will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery.
