Raymundo “Ray” Cruz Blanco, of Virginia Beach, VA., passed away Wednesday June 8th 2022.
Ray was born in Santa Cruz Laguna, Philippines on March 15, 1937.
Ray served 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a First-Class Petty Officer (Mess Management – MS1). Following retirement, he worked as a cashier at several 7-11 stores in Virginia Beach and Norfolk over the next 30 years. Ray was a devoted believer in the Almighty God, regularly attending worship services at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk, VA.
He enjoyed socializing with friends, dancing at the Banque Country Western, exercising daily, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with loved ones – never missing birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings. Ray made friends everywhere he went, was generous and loving to all who knew him and even those that didn’t. He always made time to help others and went well beyond what was asked, exemplifying the kind heart and deep care he had for all he encountered.
Ray is survived by Aurora Calazara (Niece), Jinelle Franklin (Great Niece), Jeremy Calazara (Great Nephew) and many more relatives in the Philippines.
