Richard Allen Hulker, 79, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Richard was an engine mechanic both on ships and later in life on trucks. As a mechanic, he traveled the world to wherever a ship had engine problems. He served time in the army and won a gold award for a sharp shooter.
Richard loved to make things out of wood and had his own separate garage built in order to work on his projects. He made several rocking horses for the church preschool and for family members among many other items, that are treasured by those he gave them to.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Lee Hulker, his sons, Keith Allen Hulker, Chad Eric Hulker and Kyle Avery Hulker, and daughters, Elizabeth Ann Villa and Sharon Lee Korp, and their families, as well as his two brothers, Donald Hulker and Delvin Hulker and their families.
There will be a private memorial service for the family at the Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, October 12 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, the Hulker family would be grateful for donations to First Baptist Church of Norfolk on Kempsville Road.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers,, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
