Robert J. “ Bubba “ Cochrane 68 of Norfolk, Virginia passed away suddenly on August 20, 2020 at his home in Norfolk, Virginia. Bubba was a graduate of Maury High School and continued his education with numerous courses that prepared him for a career as a Personal Trainer Rehabilitation Instructor and Coach at The Fit Company.
Bubba a never ending source of energy had many adventures and lived his life to the fullest. His passion was being in the outdoors…from playing Baseball as a kid with the Community Midget Falcons Baseball League 1963-1964, Football in 1964 at Willard Jr. High School, Mountain Climbing, Sky Diving, Hiking, Fishing, Hunting and spending time at the Beach. One of the accomplishments that he was most proud of was being a founding member of the NORFOLK CITY BLUES RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB. He was selected to play with the VRU, the ERU, and the 1981 ENGLAND Tour. The life-long comradery with these groups of teammates has been a very important part of his life that he held dearly.
The Memories he held closest to his heart were the times he was able to spend with his family and his dearly beloved Dog Travis. He always talked about Travis with fond memories about their many adventures.
Proceeded in death by his grandparents, John P. and Edna M. Evans, mother, Shirley Mae “Evans” Cochrane, father, James C. Cochrane, brother, William J. “Billy” Cochrane and nephew Travis B. Farmer. Left to cherish his memory; brother, James C. Cochrane Jr, sister, Patricia M. “Cochrane” Kleinhuizen (Jim), brother, Steven M. Cochrane (Cheryl), Margaret Peggy Cochrane (Bill deceased).
Nieces and nephews; Lisa (RJ) Garcia, Kimberley Nunez Pacheco, Lindsay Cochrane, William S. Cochrane, Stephanie Bryan (Casey), Joseph Cochrane (Lyndsay), Robert Cochrane, Abigail Cochrane, and Cristy Farmer. Great nieces and nephews; Marissa, Julia, Bryanna, Ezra, Catherine, Ryder, Max, and Kane.
Remembering special friends Curtis and Mary Hall, Dale and Jeanie, Dan Lonergan, Randy, Jean, Mark E. Skees, Roger Arrington and a special young lady, Madelyn. There are many who will be remembered for their kindness and friendship you know who you are.
Bubba’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
