

Robert Reeves Morehead, Sr. DTCS USN retired of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on March 8, 2014. Born April 14, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Led Reeves Morehead and late Frances Morehead. Robert was always the life of the party. He spent 30 years serving in the United States Navy, making friends in every port across the world. Some of his passions included gardening, fishing and hunting. With all of the humor, jokes and laughter, there was never a dull moment. He was one of a kind, loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife Christine Morehead, one daughter, Catherine Negich and her husband Harry, two sons, Robert Morehead, Jr. and his wife Diana, Scott Morehead and his wife Amy, extended family Carrie Giles and her wife Glenda, five grandchildren, Michele Knecht and her significant other LT Joe Michnya USN, EM2(SW) Tyler Morehead USN, Chase Negich, Faith Morehead and her fiancé Paul McAndrews, Bradley Welman and Aiden Morehead and one great grandchild, Kenna Grace McAndrews. He is also survived by his family who live in Jacksonville, FL sisters, Ellen Shelly, Dolly Newton and her husband Cliff, brother Richard Morehead as well as a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1300, (that’s 1:00 p.m. for you civilians out there) at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6329 East Virginia Beach Boulevard, Norfolk, VA 23502. Friends and family are invited for a celebration of life reception immediately following the service in the Chesapeake Room at Woodlawn.
