Ruby Elliott Gravely

Virginia Beach Ruby Elliott Gravely, 94, passed away at her residence January 13, 2009. Born to the late George and Cora Elliott of Rich Square, North Carolina she moved to Norfolk and graduated from Maury High School in 1933. In 1938, she married the late Wilbur A. Gravely, and their union lasted 63 years. In 1972, they moved to Virginia Beach where they became active members of First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Princess Anne Women's Club and her local garden club. She is survived by a son and two daughters; William Gravely and wife Pat of Culpeper, Va., Donna Hartley and husband Doug of Tiburon, Ca. and Diane Gravely of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Todd Gravely and his wife Melissa, Lisa and her husband Byron all of Richmond, Va. and one sister of Virginia Beach. Her joy in later years became her five great grandchildren; Will, Ben, Matthew, Ruby and Sofia. She was also proceeded in death by one brother and four sisters. Funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on January 17, 2009 at 11:30am with Pastor Jay Smith presiding.
