Seth Richard Bazemore III, age 68, of Chesapeake, Virginia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Seth was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Seth R. and Jean E. Bazemore. He was preceded in death as well by his sister, Catherine B. Caburnay. Seth retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding as a Nuclear Engineering Manager. In his spare time he loved spending time with his family and friends, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and watching and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and ODU Football teams. Seth was an ODU Alumni and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Seth also enjoyed driving his Corvette and had a deep passion for antique cars and motorcycles. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Laura L. Bazemore; sons, Seth R. Bazemore, IV and Adam G. Bazemore; nieces, Michelle B. Caburnay and Myresa N. Caburnay. He leaves behind a mother-in-law, Nadine Roberts; two brothers-in-law, Cliff Aydlette (Cindy) and Richard Aydlette (Beth); two sisters-in-law, Alisa King (Terry) and Shelly Johnson (Darrell); four nieces, four nephews and two God-children.
A Celebration of Life for Seth will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502. Immediately after the service there will be a reception afterward to fellowship with the family. Seth will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502 at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
