Thelma Jean Hludzinski

Norfolk - Thelma Jean Hludzinski, 86, passed away Aug. 10, 2014. She was born July 11, 1928 in Norfolk, VA to the late William and Lila Kelly. Thelma graduated from Granby High School in 1946. She met her husband at the USO and they married in 1946. She was a homemaker and devoted mother of four children. After her husband passed away, Thelma went to work building her insurance agency, Saveway Insurance Agency. She was a past member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hludzinski; daughter, Sandra Gail Hludzinski; and brother, Earl Kelly.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Marsha H. Shell, and Cynthia K. Youngblood and her husband Richard III; son, E. Michael Hludzinski and his wife Colleen; granddaughter, Kayla M. Webb; nephew, Robert Kelly; and niece, Maryann Biernot.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to their mother’s caregiver and nurse, Jessica Darden.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
