

77, went home to be with her Lord on Good Friday, March 30, 2018. She was born in Libmanan, Camarines Sur, Philippines to the late Adriano and Genoveva Aragon Servidad, who owned a copra, banana, and pineapple farm there.
After graduating high school, Tessie attended Immaculate Heart of Mary College in Quezon City, where she received a scholarship for Theology and where she graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration, Cum Laude. She then attended the University of Santo Tomas where she received a Masters in Economics.
In January, 1970 she moved to Norfolk, Virginia with the love of her life, Marcelino Villaflor, and with two of their eventual four children. With her husband Marc, Sr. they ran an insurance brokerage firm for 44 years, catering to the Filipino community in the area. Over the years, she also taught CCD. She was a Lay Eucharistic Minister and a Lector at both San Lorenzo Spiritual Center and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She was also a Choir Member at San Lorenzo. Tessie also traveled the world with her husband Marc, visiting Austria, Jordan, Russia, Denmark, and China to name a few.
Her proudest accomplishments were being a mother and a Navy Wife. She was past President of PACT (Philippine American Community of Tidewater), as well as the past President of Bicol Association of Tidewater (BAT). She was also the founder of Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus (#12378) of San Lorenzo. In 1987 she was the first recipient of the Old Dominion University’s “High School Wrestling Mother of the Year” award.
Left to cherish the wonderful memory of Tessie are husband; children, Genevieve Villaflor (Adrian Curry), Antonnette Villaflor-Zitouni (Idriss Zitouni), Robert Villaflor (Brittain Villaflor), and Marcelino Villaflor, Jr. (Kathy Villaflor); grandchildren, Samya Zitouni, Sofia Zitouni, Hannah Brown, Karina Curry, Jensen Villaflor, Saskia Curry, Tyler Villaflor, Kenza Zitouni, Joseph Villaflor, Carroll Villaflor, Lily Villaflor, and Katy Villaflor; sisters Estelita Sandagon and Adelaida Sua; many nieces and nephews. She will be missed tremendously.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 6, 5pm-8pm, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 East Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach on Saturday, April 7 at 12noon.
