Norfolk-Thomas Beecher Richards, 76, passed away February 7, 2008 peacefully at home. Born in Sparta Tennessee on January 3, 1932 to the late Frank Argo Richards and Pauline Richards Mayberry. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years as a Master Chief and from the Civil Service as a refrigeration and heating mechanic. Thomas was a longstanding member of the Norview Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Fran Richards, a son William “Bill” Richards and friend Kerri Anderson, a daughter, Diane and husband Ken, 4 grandchildren, K.W., Keith, Kristin and Jonathan, a brother Charles Richards of S.C. and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 12, 2008. A celebration of Thomas life will be held at Azalea Baptist Church, 3314 E. Little Creek Rd, Norfolk at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday Feb. 13, 2008.
