

Born August 10, 1923, in Long Island City, New York, he was the son of Michael and Theresa Zirpoli. He was the husband of Ann Zirpoli, his wife of 62 years.
He graduated from Bishop Loughlin Catholic High School in New York City. He was a member of Ascension Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. He worked for Ford Instrument Company in New York and Safeway in Virginia Beach.
He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his two cats Casey and Lacey. He also enjoyed reading when he was able and watching his favorite television shows, especially college football.
Survived by brother Michael Zirpoli; sisters Florence Squillace and Rosemary William; daughters Marie Hawkins and Ann Garris; sons Thomas and wife Susan Zirpoli, Michael and wife Margaret Zirpoli and Robert and wife Christine Zirpoli; grandchildren John, Tommy and Adam Garris; Michael and Jill Hawkins; Jeremy, Jason, Christopher, Justin, Melissa and Julia Zirpoli; great-grandchildren Zachary Hawkins and Dylan Brooks Johnson.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Dr. Robert Zirpoli.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 Tuesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A funeral service will be held at 4 Tuesday at Woodlawn Funeral Chapel.
