Victoria Elizabeth Thatch, a kind, loving 20 year old, a hero to many, and an angel to all, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Though her time here was short, she accomplished many goals. She graduated with High Honors from Maury High School in 2011 and attended George Mason University for 2 years in hopes of becoming a pediatric oncology nurse. Everyone who knew Victoria found a friend. She touched many people with her spirit, drive, and determination in her brave battle against cancer. Her beautiful smile, quirky expressions, and quick wit gave everyone a glimpse of her soul. She will be loved and dearly remembered by all.
She is survived by her mother Melinda Fenton and stepfather Mitch Fenton, brother John M. Thatch, stepbrother and sister, Daniel and Morgan Fenton, and her father Vincent Thatch; Grandfather, Mason S. Bailey; loving grandmother Marie B. Bailey (predeceased). Great grandmother, Vivian Boone; Grandmother Diane Thatch; Loving cousins Matthew, Monica, Amanda, Alex, and Zachary; dear friend and bestie Taryn Thrasher; a host of many other close family and friends; and her special canine companion, Damon. Our special thanks goes out to Victoria’s CHKD family, Dr. Burke, and Teresa Black for their unwavering love, care, and support.
Visitation will be Friday, June 7, 6-8 p.m., with memorial services Saturday, June 8, 2 p.m., officiated by Dave Libengood. All services will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. 6329. E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk VA 23502.
