William R. Davenport, 81, passed away on August 12, 2018 at his home. He was born in Alexandria LA to the late Floyd and Letha Davenport. William was predeceased by his wife Carole Davenport and sister Ester Delong.
William served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1958. He was a member of the American Legion and retired from Oakley Transport as a Breakdown Coordinator. William was a fun-loving man who somehow always won at the game of Monopoly. He loved both salt and fresh water fishing, a talent that he often shared with his family. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins. His family will always remember so many special memories about this wonderful man.
William leaves to cherish his memory, daughters; June Broadhurst (Robert), Gidget Kelley (Gary) and Dee Martin; one son, Robert Davenport; grandchildren; William Landis, Stephanie Smith (Chad), Rowena Landis, Michael, Logan, Austin and Hope Kelley and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Broadhurst, Liam Landis and Joe Smith.
A private family service is scheduled.
