There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss you. What I wouldn't give to pick up the phone to have one conversation. Big things are happening and wish you were here to share the good news. Miss you momma

Mom, you always told me time goes by faster as you become older. I can not believe you have been gone a year, it still feels so fresh and my heart is still broken as if it was yesterday.  I miss you so so so much. I wish I could hear your voice again. I miss our talks. I am sure you are happy in your heavenly home with family and with Christ.

It’s been one year since you left us to go to your forever home with Jesus.  I miss you everyday and look forward to seeing you again.  I love you mom!

Mema taught me to be brave, honest, caring, independent, godly, forgiving, self loving, and to do for others with out the expectation of receiving anything in return. She never judged me for my mistakes and helped me understand and learn from them growing up. Mema was an honest and blunt woman who stood tall in her faith and beliefs. She showed me how to never be afraid of your own thoughts and opinions and it’s ok to be wrong or unknowing in life. 
She would say “someone will always be smarter than you and dumber than you because we are always learning.”
For these life lessons I will be forever thankful as they have made me the woman I am today. 

I remember how we would work in the flower beds talking about life and how each different flower contributed to nature. We would sit on the front porch with buckets of beans making it a game of who could finish their’s first. 
I love and miss the times we would spend in the kitchen with you teaching me how to cook and can foods. One lesson Mema was  adamant about was to never waste anything, especially the condiments. If a knife couldn’t get it we were to use a rubber spatula.
I remember the outdoor games we would play like Croquet, and the family BBQ’s where we would all get together and hangout on the back patio. 
Mema, you were the glue that kept everyone together and never let us forget the meaning of family. 





I’m sitting here trying to think of the best memory to share, but there are too many to narrow down to just one.

I look back and I can see moments that were cultivating me into the person I am today.  From helping in the garden to helping with house chores, teaching in children ministries, and making candies during holidays.  You have influenced every part of my life.  You taught me to be a hard worker, to embrace my creativity, to put God and others first, and to never waste that last bit of peanut butter (or any other condiment) from the jar 😂.

These are just a few of the long list of legacies you leave with me and that I hope to leave with my girls and they leave with theirs.

Thank you for being a godly, faithful, loving mother.  I look forward to the day I will join you in heaven.

I loved memaw a lot and I tried to help her with everything I could even when she couldn't. She is gone and  she is in a better place now and I still miss her and love her very much.

I have had the pleasure of being your Son in law for 13 years and you have blessed me in many ways. I enjoy your company and I am grateful you and Dad got to share Wisconsin with me in 2014 where I was born and let me show you my heritage.  I see several traits of yours in Carolyn and for that I am truly grateful. 
I will treasure all the memories and will see you again in heaven.  

I will never forget my life growing up with you grandma. You taught me so many things growing up and you were and always will be the best grandma anyone could ask for. I’m going to kiss seeing you smile and laugh. I will always see you and grandpa sitting on the couch cuddling and making each other smile. You were always there for me even when you were having hard times. I’m going to miss you so much. I love you grandma. Fly high we will all see you again!!

Mom, 
I will carry with me all the life lessons you have taught me! You are a wonderful Mother and Friend. I will forever have my childhood memories all the way to Adulthood. You not only raised me to know what it takes to be a homemaker, care about others first, how to be the woman I am today, but you have set the example of loving Christ! I am happy God gave me you. I love all our talks through the years and thank you for always being there for me. I know your light is shinning in the hearts of everyone you have touched. 
A funny moment was when you came to Wisconsin and every time we went anywhere I’d turn around and you had found yourself a ice cream cone and you’d just look at me and smile so big. I will never forget your smile! I love you with all my heart ❤️

Thankful to have a letter from her recently and to share a smile near the end. My favorite memories as growing up visiting and having she and Elwood visit us in Michigan. My heart has lost another mother figure.  Christine always joined in the spirit of our visits. Let me enter her youngest daughters in a Baptist Singing competition and shared their joy when they won. Played out door games. Talked sewing. Shared our love of dolls. I pray to be servant enough to joint her with the whole family in heaven. Prayers of peace and steadfastness in Him even with a loss like this. Your cousin, Sam (Sandy Kooi)

I have so many fond memories of my mother it’s hard to share just one.  She was always there when we were sick, when we had school functions, and for all of our special occasions.  She was with me during the birth of my first daughter when we were living in Mississippi.  My mom insisted on me delivering before she left and had me walking around the mall for several hours.  Another special moment that stands out was our trip to Acapulco.  We attended a fiesta our last night there which included a show of traditional Mexican dances.  On our way back to the hotel room, my husband did a short little dance and spin with her.  She laughed and giggled the entire time.   I loved hearing her laugh. 
I love and miss you so much, Mom!

My heart goes out to you during this very sad time , may you find comfort knowing she is with our Lord and Savior !

To the Harris Family,
   I would like to let you know how sorry I am to hear of Mrs. Harris's passing. I remember her as a quiet lady, but very sweet. Any time there was a function at school she was there for Maria and Beverly, whom I went to school with. I pray for God's comfort and peace for all the family. I will be praying for you all.
