

Carmella E. Dionisio died peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on August 29, 1924, in Pueblo, Colorado to Ernest Vergilio and Josephine (Martino) Vergilio. Carmella was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Leonard in 2004 and her sister Elsie (Vergilio) Francel. She is survived by her brother Ernest Vergilio.
Carmella met Leonard while working at the Pueblo Army Air Base where he was stationed for a short time during World War II. They were married on August 28, 1945 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by two sons Leonard (Teryle) of Norman, Oklahoma and James (Virginia) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her grandchildren are Michael (Elizabeth) Dionisio of Norman, Ok., Anthony (Kim) Dionisio of Tulsa, Ok., Dr. Paula (Brandon, Johnson) Dionisio of Pueblo, Co., Gina (David Shields) Bentonville, Ark., Timothy (Monica) Dionisio of Oklahoma City, Ok., Lisa (Juan Carlos) Morrell Norman, Ok., Jacob (Liesel) Dionisio Centennial, Co. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
After retirement from CF&I Power Credit Union she worked at the Shrine of St. Therese where she was charged with the accounting for the capital campaign to build the new Shrine. Carmella was always active at home, she was a great baker and cook and loved to entertain her family and friends at home. She not only worked at the Shrine but she was very active in her faith.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carmella’s life with a Holy Rosary at the Shrine of St. Therese at 6:30 PM on Friday April, 21, 2017. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
