Charles was born in Bromide, Oklahoma on May 12, 1938 to Albert and Wanda Epperson. He grew up in Bromide and graduated from Bromide High School. After high school Charles proudly joined the Army and thoroughly enjoyed his time of service stationed in Germany.
In August 1961 Charles married his wonderful wife of 41 years (until her passing), Wanda Fern Epperson. Charles started a beloved career as a barber in Oklahoma City. They soon moved to Norman with their three children Tom, Rod and Lori. He became an electrician before starting his long and successful career as a custom home builder. Charles was a respected home builder in Norman serving as the Oklahoma Home Builders Association president and being awarded Oklahoma Builder of the Year. Charles prided himself on being honest and fair and producing beautiful quality homes for the many families he met and called friends.
Charles never met a stranger. He was always the life of the party, most often telling jokes that caused him to laugh so hard before he reached the punchline. We would all start laughing still waiting to learn how the joke ended. He loved and cherished his immediate as well as his extended family, always putting family first.
Charles married the lovely Gloria Epperson in 2011. They enjoyed their senior years together dancing, traveling, and enjoying the grandkids.
Charles is survived by his wife Gloria, his son Rod and his wife Windi, his daughter Lori and her husband Patrick, his brother Leo and wife Mickey and seven grandchildren; William, Mary, David, Carleigh, Danny, Claye and Colton.
He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda and son Tom.
