David graduated high school in 1948. He made his home in Pecos, Texas for 60 years. He was a member of the American Medical Technologists, and volunteer/supporter of the West of the Pecos Museum. David was a fire fighter with the Volunteer Fire Department from 1969 to 1993. He owned several businesses including Trans-Pecos Lab, Trans-Western Medical Supply, Radio Shack, and a car wash and pump service.
David is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Debra Diane Thomas; and sister Peggy Jane Thomas Hammen.
He is survived by daughters Pam Collins and husband Terry, and Rene Moore and husband Patrick; grandchildren Mechelle Helmberger and husband Duane, Cody Collins, Callie Collins, Josh Moore, and Kasey Moore.
