

She was born Dec. 16, 1923 in Ada, OK, to Eli Thomas and Vera Lucretia (Dawson) Nail. She married John V. Stanfield in Oklahoma City on Sept. 8, 1945.
Doris graduated from Guthrie High School and furthered her education at Blackwood Business College in Oklahoma City. She worked for the Baptist Bookstore in Oklahoma City for 10 years and in the personnel department at Tinker Air Force Base for 20 years until her retirement in 1985. Doris’ hobbies included sewing and making unique greeting cards. She loved to travel and visited Israel, Mexico, China, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Egypt, Poland, Canada, just to name a few. Above all she loved spending time with her family. She especially was invested in the lives of her grandchildren and even was awarded “Grandmother of the Year” at their elementary school. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children: John M. (Martha) Stanfield of Edmond, Lucretia Camacho of Moore; grandchildren: Krista (Michael) Johnson of Edmond, Elizabeth (Brian) Wiley of Moore, Kara (Joshua) Milligan of Mansfield, TX, Miguel (Kimberly) Camacho of Midwest City, Alicia (1st Lt. Mark Harmon, USAF) Harmon of Great Falls, MT; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; siblings: Eli Thomas “Spike” Nail, Wanda Walker, Edwin Nail, Dawson “Tack” Nail.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday Sept. 25, 2016 at Primrose Funeral Service, Norman. Funeral Service will be Monday Sept. 26, 2016 at Sooner Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Interment will be at Arlington Memory Gardens. Pastor Bill Spain will officiate.
