Dorothy Lee Irwin was born August 11, 1934 and passed away March 30, 2016 at the age of 81 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband Gene Morgan and her two sons, Larry Gene and Terry Lee Morgan.
In her early life she worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at Norman Regional Hospital and many different nursing homes in the surrounding area. She also did volunteer work and when she was no longer able to do that she spent the rest of her years as “ house-wife”. She loved quilting quilts for her family and friends. There was hardly ever a time when you would go to her home that she wouldn’t give you a quilt. Her kids would always get one for Christmas. Paula, her daughter has around twenty-five to thirty quilts. Paula shared these thoughts: “When you lose a spouse it’s hard but I want to say that my dad Dennis Irwin loved my mother with all his heart and stayed by her side day and night until she left this world. That is love and a bond that can never be forgotten. Love you Dad, Paula”. Mr. Irwin drove for Walmart and occasionally Dorothy rode with him. On one occasion they slept in the truck because they had gotten snowed in. They traveled all over while “Pop” drove the truck. David Irwin remembers when his dad and Dorothy got together, his dad went off to work and they left to go to the Popcorn Store. Momma loved popcorn. Dorothy never knew a stranger, she always made you feel at home and her home was everybody’s home.
She leaves her sons; Donald, Dennis, Steven and one daughter; Paula as well as their spouses and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind her current husband of thirty years, Dennis Lee Irwin, and his four sons Dexter, Darrell, Dennis, David and their spouses and children.
