Doyle Lindle Coleman was born on July 7, 1932, in Lexington, Oklahoma. He was the tenth child born into a family of eleven. The son of O.C. Coleman and Bertha Hollowell Coleman, Doyle grew up on a cotton farm in Willow View. The Coleman family owned the only cotton gin in the area. After earning his diploma from Lexington High School, he attended Oklahoma A&M University in Stillwater, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Education. He taught school in Spearville, Kansas before returning home to Lexington to care for his mother.
Church played a large role in Doyle’s life. He was baptized in a farm pond in Spring Hill, OK as a young teenager. In early 1960, he was introduced to Betty Delores Inmon, the organist for Immanuel Baptist Church. Their favorite dates included driving around Norman to find a revival to attend. After dating three months, they were married June 10, 1960. They worked side by side, raising their family and serving the Lord. Doyle was a youth leader at Regency Park Baptist for many years, also leading RA’s, and singing in the choir.
He was employed at Tinker Air Force Base as an inventory manager where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1988. In 2010, he committed his full time and attention to home care for Betty as she began declining in health with Alzheimer's, and continued to faithfully attend to her until her death December 11, 2015.
His earthly passions were raising chickens, woodworking, art work, farming and gardening. He loved canning and making homemade candy on the holidays. He especially loved his grandkids and dedicated every minute he could to their wellbeing and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Nolan Coleman, Reford Coleman, and Caylon Coleman, and sisters Cecil Garner, Ruby Sasser, Virgie Coles, Opal Watkins, and Neva Jarboe, and Freda Lou Coleman.
He is survived by his sister Margie Jones, son Lindle Coleman, daughter Donna McCutcheon and husband Will, grandchildren Liam and Molly McCutcheon, Brayden and Calle Coleman, sisters-in-law Patsy Coleman, and Phyllis Woodard Knott and husband Bervin, and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
