

Earl Dee Harmon, age 82, of Norman, OK passed away peacefully in his home on June 30'\ 2021. He was born on May 23rd, 1939 in Little Axe, OK to LA (Cat) & Eula Mae Oliphant Harmon and spent the majority of his life in Norman. As a youth, he attended Alamo Grade School (east ofNoble), took his first job at age 13, and he went on to graduate from Noble High School in 1956. After graduation, he took a job with the Norman Transcript, and around that same time he met the love of his life, Shirley Rae Phillips. They were married on December 15, 1957
and together they had two daughters: Kimberly Ann & Toni Kay Harmon. His experience at the Transcript led him to accept a position with the Daily Oklahoman (now OPUBCO). He enjoyed a long career there and retired in 1992 as the Mechanical Services Manager. As a lifelong OU fan, he became of a member of the Sooner Club and he and his wife Shirley attended many OU girls' Basketball and Softball games. They were also members of Immanuel Baptist Church. Dee and Shirley enjoyed 58 years of marriage together until Shirley's passing in April 2017. He loved spending his time sitting on the porch, traveling, gambling, eating out everyday and visiting with family.
However, his current favorite thing was to torment his loving daughter, Kim, who lived with and took care of him the last year of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Harmon, his brother, Lon Edward Harmon, his daughter, Toni Kay Harmon, and his son-in law, John Scott White. Dee is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Harmon White; his three granddaughters, Taylor Nickell (and husband Ryan), Tanner Hull (and husband Teak), and Trace White; his great grandson, Oliver Ryan Nickell; his siblings, Nelda Jennings Black (and husband Jimmy Black), Mary Lou Harmon Younkins, and Gene Michael Harmon (and wife, Shelly Harmon); his step daughter Sherry Mosely (and husband, Rick Mosely); and his step-granddaughters, Julie Aultz & Tiffany Dollins.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, July 7th· from 5-
8pm at Primrose Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at IOOF cemetery on Thursday, July 8th at 11am.
