Elinda Jean Gravatt

Elinda was born on August 8, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to William A. Franks and Roberta (Evans) Franks. She spent her early years living in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas before settling in Oklahoma in 1965, where she would build her life and raise her family.

On May 11, 1972, she married the love of her life, Merle Gravatt, and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Elinda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and Nana, roles she cherished more than anything.

She worked as an administrative clerk for the FAA, but her most treasured title was "Nana." Her grandchildren, Kaden Gravatt, Bentley Bond, Brandon Choate and Brittan Choate, were her greatest joy and constant source of laughter. Nothing made her smile more than time spent with her grandbabies, and she filled their lives with love, stories, and unforgettable memories.

Elinda had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life: grilling out with her family, relaxing in the pool, listening to her favorite 50s and 60s oldies, and surrounding herself in the color green. She especially loved to travel and explore new places—creating memories along the way with those she loved most.

Elinda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bill Franks.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Merle Gravatt of Tuttle; her son, Toby Gravatt and wife Cami of Norman, Oklahoma; her daughter, Kari Bond and husband Chris of Tuttle, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Kaden Gravatt, Bentley Bond; her sister, Sherry Moulton and husband Bill of Oklahoma City; her sister-in-law Nita of McKinney, Texas; and her 10 nieces and 12 nephews.

Elinda will be remembered as a loving Nana, Mom, wife, and friend. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Service.

A funeral service will follow on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Primrose Funeral Service Chapel.

Elinda will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
