Born January 31st, 1937, in Prairie Grove Arkansas, Liz spent her childhood in Stilwell, Oklahoma. After her father, Edward Neff, died when she was nine, she and her nine siblings were raised by her mother, Maryetta. Liz graduated from Stilwell High School, and later, in 1957 married Curtis Thomas, who was in the Air Force. They were stationed all over the country during his military career. She gave birth to son Michael in 1961, and daughter Cynthia in 1966. They moved to Norman in 1972 after Curtis retired, and lived on Aladdin Street for nearly 50 years. Liz worked in the Cleveland County Clerk’s Office until her retirement.
Liz really enjoyed her grandchildren, Jacob and Kayla. Any time the kids were at her house, they were probably in her lap. She was a good bowler, loved to go dancing, and was a lifelong bridge player. She had a real eye for cards, and a gift for playing her luck. She was kind hearted, fun, generous, and just about the best mother/grandmother/great grandmother a person could ask for.
Elizabeth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Susie Thomas, granddaughter and her husband Kayla and Micah Stewart, and great grandson Quinten Curtis Stewart. Additionally, she is survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy Thomas, Vera Thomas, Helen Barker and her husband Glyn, brother-in-law Max Thomas, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Thomas, daughter Cynthia Miller, and grandson Jacob Miller.
