

Francis Mbong, aka Ete Mbong was born on May 5th, 1946. He was the i5t child to the family of late Chief Benedict Mbong Udodiong of Nung Odiong in lkot Ataku and late madam Nwa Uwemedimo of Nung lnyang Udoh also in lkot Ataku, both in Okon-Eket Government Area. He completed his primary school education at Sacred Heart School, Eket and completed his secondary school education at Holy Family College Oku, in Abak LG.A. Akwa lbom State of Nigeria. After his secondary school education, he was employed in the Ministry of Health, in Apapa Lagos State, Nigeria where he worked for many years before proceeding to Utah State University for his college education. Ete Mbong later transferred to the University of Oklahoma for his master's program.
He was married to his "Darling" Mrs Ukpeanwan Francis Mbong Nee Emmanuel Usen from Nung Ekpo Nki in Ndon lbotio, in Mkpat Enin LG.A. of Akwa lbom State. He was preceded by his father late chief Benedict Mbong, mother late madam Philomena Mbong, and late son ldongesit Benedict Mbong.
He is survived by his only sister Mrs. Beatrice Aloysius Orok & her housband Mr. Aloysius Orok, his sweetheart "Darling" Mrs . Ukpeanwan Francis Mbong, three children, Mr. Benedict Francis Mbong, Miss Ekaette Benedict Mbong, and Rev. Emmanuel Usen Mbong Jr. Two Nephews, Dr .John Aloysius Orok, Arc. lniobiong Aloysius Orok. He was also blessed with two grandchildren of which are ldongesit Elijah Benedict Mbong, Lukas Benedict Mbong, and a host of nephews and nieces, Cousins and a host of relatives & friends. Late Francis Benedict Mbong was well known in the community as "Ete-Mbong"
His love for all people as a father, brother, friend, Christian, and educator, an ardent contributor to knowledge within & outside the family. He developed an immeasurable interest in the education of his children and those of his friends and relations. Late Francis Benedict Mbong aka -Ete Mbong was a devoted faithful Christian who identified himself with all church activities. He was a peacemaker, and above all he had an excellent public relation with people in every work of life.
Late Chief Fracis Benedit Mbong was a family head of Nung Udodiong, a devoted husband, loving and caring father and grandfather to his own and all other children.
He had a successful career that consummated 24 years of dedication, service, and commitment as a state employee and retired from Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services in 2011.
How we wished you had lived longer to enjoy the fruit of your labor, but God who loved you more has called you into eternal life on April 5th, 2023. We miss you loving father, caring husband, and a special friend. Good-bye "Ete Mbong" may your soul rest in perfect peace with the Lord. Amen.
Funerial arrangement is set for June 10th at 10 Am @ 4400 E. Almeda, Norman Ok 73026. Final resting place at Sunset memorial park 2301 E. Indian hill road, Norman Ok 73071. Under the Officiating Pastor Robert Peterson.
