Jack was born in Norman, OK on July 12, 1947 to parents Milton Lester Taylor and Elsie Beatrice (Thompson) Taylor. After graduating from Norman High School in 1966, he received his BA and MBA from the University of Oklahoma. He also served in the US Army and went on to earn his CPA. He worked tirelessly his entire career within the oil & gas industry in Oklahoma and Houston, TX before retiring to the peaceful life back home in Norman, OK. He enjoyed his time cheering for his beloved Sooners at various OU sporting events and riding his Harley. He also loved traveling to Europe and the US to watch Formula One races. He enjoyed life and was always ready for new adventures.
Jack was a loving, generous, and brilliant man with a sharp sense of humor. He was adored by everyone he met, but loved most of all by his wife of 44 years, Anita Taylor, his daughter, Shannon Taylor Hodnett and his grandson, Jack Hodnett. His loving and devoted family also includes mother-in-law, Audrey Moak, son-in-law, Jeffrey Hodnett, and great-nephews Dan and Kyler Tucci, who were more like grandsons to him.
Jack’s circle of friends was lifelong and spread out across the country. They each meant a lot to him and he treasured all of the good times they shared. His beautiful memory will be held close to our hearts always and he will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held August 4, 2018 in Houston TX.
