James E. Belcher, Jr., 82 of Norman, passed away October 28, 2014 in Oklahoma City. Mr. Belcher was born April 16, 1932 in Norman to James E. and Blanche (Martin) Belcher. He was laid to rest at the Norman IOOF Cemetery during private services.
Mr. Belcher graduated from then Central State College, now University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science. As a veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War.
On June 2, 1954 in Lexington, James married the love of his life, Cecilia Ann Giroux.
Mr. Belcher was preceded in death by his parents Professor J.E. and Blanche Martin-Belcher; and his sister, Myra Lael Brown.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Cecilia Belcher; children, Theresa Rowell, Jim Belcher, and Tom Belcher; grand-children, James Adam Belcher, Amanda Dawn Belcher, Sean Feroli, Kimberly Weger, Tisha Berna, Tina Lewis, McKenzie Belcher, and Mason Belcher; and ten great-grandchildren.
At the request of the family, donations can be made to St. Thomas More St. Vincent de Paul or the Diabetic Foundation.
