

Arrangements under the direction of Primrose FJames Frank "Doc" Renegar, Jr., 90, of Norman, was born in Tuttle, Oklahoma, November 13, 1919 and peacefully left us July 28, 2010. His uplifting attitude, contagious outgoing personality and most of all his smiling face will be missed by anyone that ever came in contact with him.
He grew up in Tuttle, OK, where he met the love of his life Betty Jean "Sugar Pie" Renegar. They were married and shared 70 wonderful years together.
He attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the OU marching band. He trained as a pilot and was working as a flight instructor when he was called to duty. He proudly served our country with the Army Air Corps during WWII. "Doc" flew missions to Africa, Middle East, India, China, Central and South America. He was a State House of Representative for Grady County. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, 405 in Tuttle. He was also very proud of his Native American Choctaw roots.
"Doc" and Betty were "On the Road Again" in their RV during their retirement years traveling all over the United States, Canada and Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father Dr. J.F. Renegar, Sr., mother Gracie Baggett, two sisters, daughter Beverly Leigh, granddaughter Cyndi Fuzzell, and wife Betty Renegar.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy Pitt of Norman; daughter Sandy Smith and her husband Hal of Norman; son-in-law Mark Leigh of Edmond; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
"Doc's" secret to longevity was "medicine is for selling not for taking" and 2 R&R's everyday at 5 o'clock.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday at the Primrose Chapel with Chaplain Harry Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
