She was the daughter of Paul S. Ache and Edith Deal Forsyth. Her father had been an attorney in Pittsburgh, PA for the Mellon family, but like many Pittsburgh natives, he moved his family to Tulsa to explore for oil in the shallow fields of northeast Oklahoma.
Jean grew up in Tulsa, attending Holland Hall, graduating in 1947. She was proud to graduate from Holland Hall and maintained lifelong friendships with her classmates. After graduation, Jean studied art at Colorado University and the University of Tulsa. Faith was a lifelong walk and very important to Jean, even converting to Catholicism at 90 to continue to grow her relationship with God.
Jean was trained as a classical pianist and remained passionate about music throughout her life. Anyone that knew Jean would remember the opera from the Met playing every Saturday afternoon. She was a member of the Tulsa Junior League, Tulsa Opera Guild, and the Gaslight Gals. She was a self-employed court reporter.
She deeply loved her family and friends, and instilled in us a deep love of people and an appreciation of life. She also instilled all of us with a great sense of humor and the importance of appreciating the little things of life.
