Jesusa “Susie” Lester, born on October 15, 1941, in Hildago County, Texas, to Manuel and Elena Riojas Dominguez. She passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 84. A woman of deep faith, Susie was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Her biggest virtues were her commitment to her faith and her unconditional love and devotion to her family.
Susie was previously married to George Hogue, with whom she shared three children, Bobby, Michael and Kathy. She later married Darrell Lester and became step-mother to Derek and Jason Lester.
After graduation from High School, Susie worked at Westinghouse. Following that, she dedicated 24 years to General Motors, where she eventually retired. Susie truly loved and missed socializing with people, which eventually led her back to work for Riverwind Casino and as a Docent for both the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art in Norman.
Susie lived life to the fullest and loved going on cruises and taking trips with her sisters and friends. She will forever be remembered as a classy lady with impeccable style. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, fitness and dancing. She took great pleasure in tending to her beautiful plants and flower beds. She always made time to exercise and really enjoyed watching “Dancing with the Stars”. But her greatest passion was to dance, and she never missed an opportunity to show off her talents and enthusiasm on any occasion, dancing to any style of music being played.
Being a fun and loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend was Susie’s greatest blessing. May we keep her contagious laughter, free spirit and love for life in our hearts forever.
