

Joe was born April 14th 1915 in Tryon, Nebraska to James Oliver Curry and Martha Mabel Armstrong. The family moved from Nebraska to Oklahoma in a covered wagon when Joe was just a young boy. Joe and his family settled permanently in Norman, Oklahoma where he spent the rest of his years. Joe attended Norman High School, and afterward he met the love of his life, Juanita Mae Myers. The couple wed on September 26th 1937 and bought their home in 1945 where they would spend the rest of their lives together. Joe and Juanita brought five loving children into the world and shared 73 wonderful years together.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, loving wife Juanita, and two of his children, Phil “Jodie” Curry and Gina Curry Davis, as well as a great-grandson. He is survived by three children, Quantilla Sue Potts, Chris Curry and Carla Edwardson. Joe and Juanita were blessed with nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and countless friends. Joe made a lasting impression on many lives, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to being a lifelong loving husband and father, Joe was a talented carpenter, craftsman and woodworker. He was a member of the Carpenters Union of America for almost 65 years. Joe was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and archery. Joe and Juanita enjoyed traveling across the country together, and they spent many years vacationing and camping throughout the United States and Canada. Joe was a devoted member of the Church of Christ for almost 60 years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling with Juanita and his children in several bowling leagues. Joe was also a longtime OU and Norman High football fan.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Primrose Chapel. The service will be co-officiated by pastors Mark Taylor and Ken Ellis. Arrangements have been trusted to Primrose Funeral Service. For condolences and more information, please visit www.primrosefuneralservice.com
All those attending the service are invited to a lunch hosted at the Noble Church of Christ 111 N. Main Street, Noble, OK. Lunch will begin at 11:30am Friday.
