Joe Allen Fink

Joe grew up in Tulsa and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa before becoming a Certified Public Accountant. He also served in the United States Air Force Reserve. He lived and worked in Tulsa until he moved his family to Norman in 1971 after being promoted in his career at the Internal Revenue Service. After the unfortunate early passing of his wife Lois, he moved back to Tulsa in 1992. After having health issues, he ultimately returned to Norman in 2022 to be closer to his children, where he lived until his passing.

In June 1954, Joe married Lois Alma Turner, and they shared many wonderful years together before she passed away from cancer in June 1992. He later married Betty Lou Nagy in February 1993. They remained married until her passing in January 2025.

Joe had a deep love for country, folk, and gospel music. His perfect day was one spent surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Joe found joy and laughter in all aspects of life. He taught those around him the values of hard work, the importance of family, and the power of a good sense of humor. Above all, he will be remembered as an honest, hardworking man with a strong faith who loved his family dearly.

He was a proud member of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs and a dedicated member of Woodland Christian Church.

Joe is survived by his children, Kathleen Peterson and her husband, David, of Tribbey, Oklahoma; Jolene Lyles and her husband, John, of Norman, Oklahoma; and Joel Fink and his spouse, Zita DeGraffenreid, of Denton, Texas. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Paul Perryman of Prue, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren with another due in June 2025, and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Reginia; his first wife, Lois; his second wife, Betty; his son, Tobias Fink; and his sister, Mary Perryman.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
