Josiah Martin Moore (formerly Fitz), born January 3, 2005, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away December 12, 2025, at the young age of 20 years old, at home, surrounded by loved ones. By his side was his devoted wife, Amelia, who remained with him during the last weeks of his life.
Josiah was born to Angela Fitz and Joshua Stormer of Noble, Oklahoma. He was the beloved husband of Amelia Moore of Norman, Oklahoma. Josiah and Amelia first met in the spring of 2016 and began dating in 2021. From the moment they became a couple, they were inseparable—truly connected at the hip. They were each other’s safe space. During the time Josiah was stationed at Whidbey Island, Washington, they were on the phone nonstop, and the distance never weakened their bond; if anything, it brought them closer together and made their love even stronger. This deep and unwavering connection led to their marriage on November 21, 2024, a celebration of the love and devotion they shared.
Josiah attended Epic Charter Schools, where he graduated, and also attended Wayne Technology Center, earning a welding certificate. He proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate, rank E4, working on aircraft while stationed at Whidbey Island, Washington, serving his country with honor, skill, and dedication.
In September 2024, Josiah was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma cancer, a diagnosis that devastated everyone who loved him—especially Josiah and Amelia. He returned home in early October 2024 to continue treatment at Children’s Hospital. Throughout his entire cancer journey—through countless hospital admissions, chemotherapy treatments, and radiation—Amelia was always by his side, as they were truly attached at the hip. Josiah faced every step with courage and grace, always walking in with a smile. Over the past year and a half, he remained cheerful, strong, and full of life.
Josiah never let the cancer bring him down. He never allowed cancer to define who he was. He was always a natural jokester, wearing that beautiful smile and doing everything he could to make others happy, even on the darkest days.
Josiah was an outdoorsy soul with a deep love for nature. In his younger years, he spent several years in Boy Scouts, exploring the outdoors and learning valuable skills. When he wasn’t inseparable from Amelia or focused on treatment and healing, Josiah loved playing video games with his cousins and siblings. He also enjoyed Magic: The Gathering, a game he was passionate about.
Josiah’s second greatest loves, after his wife and his beloved dogs, were his nieces and nephews: Remiel Moore Medina; Emmalyn Garrison; and nephews Mateo Joe Moore, Dakota Garrison, and Archer Garrison. Known to them as “JoJo,” he delighted in every moment spent together. Seeing them or being seen by them always brought a smile to his face, and his love for them was immense—almost as deep as his love for Amelia.
Josiah is survived by his wife, Amelia Moore; his parents, Angela Fitz and Joshua Stormer; and his siblings: Matilda Fitz-Reed (partner: Kennedy Carlick), Zion Stormer (partner: Jamy Calk, Norman, Oklahoma), Sophia Fitz Stormer (Indiana), Genevieve Stormer (Noble, Oklahoma), David Stormer (Noble, Oklahoma), and Clara Fitz (Noble, Oklahoma).
He is also survived by his father- and mother-in-law, Daniel and Barbara Capri of Norman, Oklahoma; his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Anahi Moore Medina and Cesar Medina of Oklahoma City, and Megan and Dylan Garrison of Moore, Oklahoma; along with Elizabeth Marano of Arizona and Abigail Capri of Norman, Oklahoma.
Josiah was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Louise and Debbie, his father-in-law, William Moore, his nephew, Theodore Garrison, and his beloved dog, Rufus.
Josiah will be remembered for his strength, his kind heart, his humor, and his deep devotion to Amelia and his family. He was also deeply loved by his numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and his beloved extended family of nurses and doctors at Children’s Hospital, who supported him through his journey. His life, though far too short, left a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
A visitation will be held for Josiah at Primrose Funeral Service Flood location, located at 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, on Sunday December 21, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Primrose Funeral Service Porter Location, located at 1109 N Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071, on Monday December 22, 2025, starting at 10:00 am. Josiah will be laid to rest at Noble IOOF Cemetery, located at 1585 S Main, Noble.
