

Katherine Ann Shearer, age 60, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on October 1, 2024. Born on February 20, 1964, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Hugh Arthur Shearer and Wanona Merle Shearer, Katherine spent her entire life in the Norman area, forming deep roots in her community.
A graduate of Norman High School, Katherine was known for her warm heart, kindness, and unshakeable patience. Her passion for baking often filled her kitchen with laughter, as she delighted in preparing treats while wearing her favorite apron, surrounded by family and friends. Katherine loved cats, finding joy and laughter in their playful antics, and was equally fond of watching classic Laurel and Hardy films and her beloved holiday favorite, Christmas Vacation.
Katherine’s love of music was evident in her admiration for artists like John Denver and The Beatles, whose songs she cherished. A devoted and compassionate friend, she was a great listener, always ready with a kind word and a prayer. Her faith was central to her life, and she was remembered by many as a “prayer warrior” and a loving presence.
She worked as a house cleaner for many years, touching the lives of those she served with her thoughtful, caring nature. Family gatherings, especially with her late sister Lynda, were some of Katherine’s happiest moments, as she valued the time spent with her loved ones.
Katherine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Norman, where she lived out her faith through service and fellowship. She is survived by her brothers, Robert Arthur Shearer and his spouse Sara of Bethel, Oklahoma; Garry Lynn Shearer and his spouse Kathleen of Norman, Oklahoma; Larry Glenn Shearer and his spouse Beth of Norman, Oklahoma; and Michael Rory Shearer and his spouse Carol of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 8 nieces, 1 nephew, and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Wanona, her sister Lynda Carol Shearer, and many beloved cats who were her cherished companions over the years.
Katherine’s gentle spirit, her love for family, and her unwavering faith will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
A memorial service for Katherine will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
