Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, William Owen Turner; her aunt Donna Raspberry of Emerson, Arkansas; her nieces Rachael Albarado of Conroe, Texas and Stephanie Taylor of Banks, Alabama; and her nephew Christopher Albarado of Sulphur, Louisiana. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Donald, and Darlene Shawn; her sister Vicki Shawn; and her grandparents.
Lynn was born in Oceanside, California where her father was a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton. She spent most of her younger years on the beautiful beaches of California before returning to Oklahoma after her father retired. Lynn loved to travel and to experience the world and the many different cultures it has to offer. Even from a young age, Lynn was fearless. With her bright eyes of green and golden hair, she set out on her solo tour of Europe at the age of 25. Lynn and her husband also ventured to Israel where they were both baptized in the Jordan River, the same river that her Savior was baptized in.
Lynn was a very artistic soul. She enjoyed photography, painting, gardening, and spending evenings watching the sunset from her porch with her husband and puppies- Shelby and Tibby. She also loved listening to and creating music. In high school, she played multiple instruments in the band. She genuinely enjoyed taking trips and staying in Bed & Breakfast facilities with her husband. Lynn was a gift to this world, and she will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24 at the Hilltop Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma. The same church she was wedded in 35 years ago. Pastor Matt of Hilltop will officiate the services. Condolences and memories can be shared on the Primrose Funeral Home website.
