Lynn Antoinette (Williams) Wolfe of Norman, Oklahoma was born March 16, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee and died peacefully in her sleep overnight February 23, 2026 in a memory care facility in Oklahoma City where the Alzheimer's disease finished its work.
Lynn was the sole remaining member of the family of Robert Lowery Williams, Jr. and Virginia D. Williams of Memphis. She had two brothers, one older and one younger who died prior to their sister.
After high school in Memphis, Lynn's education included colleges and universities in Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with a major in Spanish and a graduate certification in the Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL).
She married Henry Austin Wolfe on June 18, 1970 in Shelby County, TN. Austin was 23 and Lynn was 21. Their marriage of nearly fifty years produced no children.
With her husband, who also earned a degree in Spanish, they taught in Tennessee, Texas, Mexico and in Bolivia, South America. Briefly, while Austin pursued graduate studies in theology at The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, California, Lynn did secretarial work in the Missions Department of Grace Community Church, pastored by Dr. John MacArthur.
In her long career, she taught all levels: elementary, middle school, high school and even one semester of Freshman Spanish at UTA. In Memphis and in Bolivia she taught English as a Second Language to elementary children who entered school not knowing the English language.
Lynn gave end-of-life care to her mother, both brothers, and her own husband. Austin died of cancer January 4, 2018 in Memphis. Afterwards, Lynn came to Norman to live with Billy & Ann Wolfe for her last seven years. While here, she was member of Trinity Baptist Church, Norman. She attended Trinity Chinese Fellowship and was member of the senior women's Sunday School class. When she could no longer drive, several members took her to Sunday School and to church supper on Wednesday evenings. One gentleman often took her out to lunch after Sunday morning worship. At home, she kept company with "Misty" her cat.
In the past year and a half, Lynn had to be moved to a secure memory care facility in Oklahoma City, because she began "wandering from home" and getting lost. At first, she was one of the most mobile residents. But in her last months, was moved about in a wheelchair and spoon fed her meals. She was visited several days a week by her family members and frequently attended to by a Christian hospice staff from ACG Norman.
A visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, located at 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, on March 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Trinity Baptist Church, 801 N Peters Ave, Norman, OK 73069, on March 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Lynn Antoinette Wolfe will be privately laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, located at 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City.
