Patricia (Pat) Ruth Nash Sellers passed from this life on November 5, 2014. She was loved by family and friends and had a long, well-lived life. She was born to Eula Beagles Nash and Henry Guy Nash on January 15, 1926 in Drumright, Oklahoma. She grew up in Drumright and graduated from Drumright High School in 1943. She married Hugh Allen Sellers II, on October 22, 1943 at the Methodist Parsonage in Drumright. He was in the Navy Seabees, and after they briefly lived in Ventura, CA, he was shipped for the duration of World War II to Iwo Jima returning to Drumright in 1945.
Pat and Hugh established their first home on a family owned ranch 5 miles south of Drumright where they raised cows and buffalo and farmed until 1958 when they relocated to Norman, Oklahoma, to run a popular local bar called “Jack’s Place”.
In 1960, Pat Sellers went to work for Bob Adair in the business office of Central State Hospital where she worked in various business capacities until retirement as Assistant Finance Officer in 1986. She was always proud to be one of the organizers and charter members of the Central State Hospital Federal Credit Union, now Friends Federal Credit Union. She worked part time for the Credit Union after retirement, and cherished her friendship with its managers Ron and Karen Smithers. With her close friend, Ruby Bowden, Pat spent many hours working for the Cleveland County Mental Health Association and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Hugh in 1977, her parents, and brothers Jack Nash and Ben Nash.
