

Peggy M. (Lance) Beyer was born in Jefferson County, Oklahoma, on August 30, 1937. She was the daughter of Virgil and Artie (Shockley) Lance. She grew up in Jefferson County where her father was a minister attending church every Sunday; she also attended Ringling Public Schools. She married Milton Sam Beyer on June 3, 1978, in Oklahoma City and they made their home in Oklahoma City. She served her family as a homemaker. She also made glass jewelry and taught the art of making it at the Will Rogers Senior Center. Her biggest accomplishments were spending time with her family, making glass jewelry and also being able to teach the art of making it to others. She was a member of the Rambling Rose Red Hatters Club, and The Larkspur Garden Club. She also loved traveling around the world making memories with the Rainbow Travel Service with Jean Rae, and she also played the piano.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three of her sisters, Joice Lance, Patsy Lance Watkins and Marie Lance Price.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Beyer of the Home; two sons, Clifton W. Sewell and wife Linda of Davis, Oklahoma, and Christopher D. Sewell and wife Beverly of McAlister, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Milton S. Beyer of Oakland, California, and John Richard Beyer and wife Susan of Norman, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Deborah Sands and husband Rob of Melbourne, Florida; four grandsons, Brandon Sewell, Nicholas Sewell, Benjaman Sewell of Davis, Oklahoma and Christopher R. Sewell of Dougherty, Oklahoma; four granddaughters, Shambri Sewell of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, Laci Sewell, Samyi Sewell Kuyendall, and Maggie Sewell all of McAlister, Oklahoma; numerous great grandchildren; one step-grandson, Jacob Beyer of Melbourne, Florida; and one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Davenport and husband John of Norman, Oklahoma; and 3 sisters, Colleen Grant of Ringling, Oklahoma, Dot Ledford and husband Ted of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Dixie Linn and husband Bob of Edmond, Oklahoma.
The family will be at Primrose Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, from 5:00pm – 7:00 pm to greet with friends.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the Primrose Funeral Service in Norman. Burial will follow in the Norman IOOF Cemetery in Norman.
A memorial has been established in her memory with the American Cancer Society, 8400 Silver Xing, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73132.
