Rocky Alen Brown met his Savior face to face on May 18, 2023. He was 57 years old. Rocky was born on October 8, 1965 in Bend Oregon. He grew up in both Oregon and Wyoming, where he and his dad and brothers hunted and fished often. Rocky graduated from Pinedale Highschool (where he was an excellent swimmer) in 1984 and attended Portland State University. Rocky was a Civil Engineer for Washington County Land Use and Transportation in Oregon and retired from there in 2022.
He married the love of his life, Angela Collinson, on March 20, 1999. They welcomed Josiah into their life in December of 2002. They loved walking along the beach, finding treasures along the way. They enjoyed vacations to Israel in 2011, National Jamboree in 2017, and a National Parks tour in Utah in 2021. Rocky was an avid cyclist, and an advocate for bike safety. He also enjoyed camping, hiking, and rockhounding. Rocky participated in the Hood to Coast run a few times. He was a scoutmaster for the Boy scouts and a former member of the Tualatin Valley Gem Club. After moving to Oklahoma, one of Rocky’s favorite things was to preach the Gospel on the streets of Oklahoma City. Rocky will always be remembered by the fruits of Christ in his life and his continual smile.
Rocky is preceded in death by his brother Lance Brown, and aunt Gwen Bernhardt. He is survived by his wife Angela, and son Josiah, mother Dona Troyer and father David Brown, brother David Brown Jr. (wife Janice, and children Andruw, Emma, Ethan, and Aspen), aunts Jeanie Prentice, Shirley Armentrout, and uncle Jim Woodbury.
