Ronald spent his early years in Amarillo and later lived in Longview and Fort Worth, Texas, before settling in Oklahoma in 1978. He proudly served in the Army Reserves and built a life grounded in family, hard work, and laughter. Ronald married the love of his life, Terry Jane McLaughlin, in 1973, and together they shared 51 years of marriage.
Ronald had a deep appreciation for music, especially 1960s and 1970s rock, 1970s and 1980s country, and contemporary folk. He loved fishing and cherished time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling classic jokes and stories from his past. Ronald will be remembered as a good man—a devoted husband, father, and grandfather—with a strong work ethic and an ability to find good in everything.
He was a teacher of patience and strength, a mentor in life and fishing, and—according to his wife—a cautionary example when it came to driving. He loved his family deeply and walked closely with God. Ronald was known for his good stories.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Wilburn Green and Viola Mae Kloepfer, and his brother, Jerry Green.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Terry J. Green of the home; sons John C. Green and wife Eve, Michael C. Green and wife Cara, and Robert J. Green and wife Courtney; his brother, Johnny Green; and four cherished granddaughters: Cora Green, Claire Green, Faith Green, and Hope Green.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. Ronald will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 E. Indian Hills Rd., Norman, Oklahoma 73071.
