Tammy Michele Hobaugh was born on September 10, 1964, to Albert Leon Hobaugh and Bonnie Sue (Long) Giers in Atlanta, Georgia, at Fort McFerson. Born into a military family, Tammy moved to the Panama Canal at the age of 6. In 1975, the family moved to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Tammy began attending Pauls Valley Special Education School, where she resided until her graduation at the age of 18 in 1982. After graduation, Tammy moved to Norman and resided in group homes, primarily Able. Eventually, relocated to Checotah, Oklahoma, to live closer to her dad. As her health declined, Tammy was moved to Warner, Oklahoma, where she died peacefully on August 6th, 2025, just shy of her 61st birthday.
Tammy always had a smile on her face and always greeted everyone with a hug. She showed the meaning of unconditional love. Known to be a very loving and caring person.
Tammy enjoyed watching Batman, but not any Batman. It had to be Adam West. Adam West was only 2nd to her love for her Daddy. She enjoyed swimming and began swimming at an early age. She was a big OU fan and loved to watch OU football and cheer on her Sooners. She was also a Big Bird fan and had the opportunity to meet Anthony Trento, the owner of the American Plume & Fancy Feather Company, who presented her with one of Big Bird’s tail feathers. Tammy enjoyed a game of cards, preferably war. She really liked it when she won!
