

Theda P. Noe 92, of Norman, Oklahoma died Saturday, December 6 in Noble. The daughter of William O. and Laura L. Kees, she was born December 25, 1921 at Purcell, Oklahoma, being the youngest of five children. At the age of 13 she moved with her parents and brother to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She met John B. Noe in Albuquerque in 1939 where he was with the Sandia Research Laboratories. They were married February 17, 1940. He was formerly from Indianapolis, Indiana.
She worked 10 years for Sandia Research Labs, University of California, located at Sandia Base, Albuquerque; prime contractors were the Atomic Energy Commission; the National Aeronautics and Space Administration; and the Department of Defense Administration.
Her husband retired from Sandia Research Laboratories after 25 years and he, Theda and son Steven moved back to Norman. She was employed by Dillard’s Department Stores, Inc. She retired after being there 11 years.
Her husband was with the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Oklahoma. He died December 24, 2002 and daughter Sharon Hankforth of Tacoma, Washington died January 1, 2003. Theda was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother; Ruth O. Harryman of Lexington, Oklahoma; Mildred U. Wilhite of Ephrata, Washington; Louise M. Waddle of Norman and Harry M. Kees of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by a son, Stevn P. Noe of Norman; two granddaughters, Marlene Storey and Rhodana Janssens; one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Hoard, all of Eugene, Oregon; and grandson, Damon Storey of Tacoma, Washington; also many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Her hobbies were gardening, interior decorating and music. She was active in volunteer work at her church and loved the people there.
